A sweet little wine with a great structure, and gorgeous aroma. Perfect with a plate of pasta or just a cheese plate. Check out their site here:
The wife and I love the little chickens on the cover. They remind us of our little birdie. Check her out on Instagram:
This is my St. John’s wort I planted last year in my community garden. I planted it from organic seeds, under the new moon. The moons energy helps “pull” the seed from the ground as it waxes to full. I will be making a tincture from the flowers. When you use fresh flowers it turns the tincture red, and this is the “blood” of St. John.
“Hypericum perforatum, known as perforate St John’s-wort, common Saint John’s wort and St John’s wort, is a flowering plant in the family Hypericaceae. The common name “St John’s wort” may be used to refer to any species of the genus Hypericum. Wikipedia”
Tonight, it’s purple sweet potato gnocchi, paired with an exotic Brazilian red. We never came across this wine before. Powerful, fruit forward, and a complex balance in tannin from the oak. Cuts right through the pillow-like gnocchi. Bravo!
We grew some Lavender in our garden last summer. So, we made an amazing syrup for cocktails. Cheers!
